Has anyone gone to confession and finally confessed those grave sins that you should have confessed long ago, along with the sin of witholding confession of mortal sins and presumption? I finally did. I had to write them on a piece of paper, and I was still tempted not to read some of them to the priest! I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to finally do this. I did it on Good Friday, and somehow I don’t feel relieved… I have never considered myself an overly scrupulous person, but is this normal?

If you’ve truly confessed all the sins you withheld in previous confessions, then they are forgiven. You shouldn’t stress over it.

If it’s bothering you, however, please call a priest and ask if you can speak to him for 15-20 minutes this week. He should be able to put your mind at ease.

The sacrament of Confession is a wonderful gift Jesus gave His Church. There’s an old saying, “Satan trembles when he sees the weakest sinner on his knees.”
