I’ve been wondering about this for some time.
Why do we need a sponsor for confirmation? I understand all about baptism and how the child needs someone to speak on his or her behalf. Confirmation is like the name implies. You are confirming that what your sponsors said for you at your baptism is in fact what you truely believe. So why do we need a sponsor for Confirmation when we can speak for ourselves?
