If you would like to discuss your spiritual journey through Confirmation, feel free to share it here on this thread. Open to anyone going through Confirmation now or has.
I am currently on my second year of Confirmation. There are nearly 40 teenagers in my class.
In our diocese it is usually one year that you go through the study of the sacrament, but starting last year, the diocese changed it to two years of study.
They believed that many of the people who received Confirmation did not fully understand the significance of the sacrament and didn’t even go to church anymore or took their faith seriously.
And unfortunately, many of the kids where I live are Catholic and only go to Mass at Easter or Christmas and that is it. Their families are not in the Faith very much and so only a few of the youth in my very small, (but very Catholic population wise) community go to Church.
I can now understand why the diocese changed it to two years.
