So, I think that I am just being paranoid about this, but I feel like I need more reasurance. I was baptized, made my first confession and recieved my first communion when I was 7. I left the church shortly after and have since returned. I went to confession after being away for so long, and met with the parish priest to discuss retuning to the church, and am in RCIA classes to be confirmed. I guess, deep down, I know the answer to this question, but I am going to ask anyway. Can I still recieve communion without being confirmed?? I go to confession every other saturday and have been attending daily mass as well as weekend mass (as long as I am not working) and HAVE been recieving communion. Is this OK???

Yes, of course it’s ok, you don’t need to be confirmed to receive Communion. Most of us received for at least a couple of years before we were confirmed.

Thanks. I always knew deep down that this was probably ok, but just needed reassurance. Thank you. 🙂

yes as long as you have been to confession and been absolved of all sins of you past life, since your last good confession, and don’t have other issues that need to be resolved first (invalid marriage etc) you may and should return to communion and of course regular Mass attendance.
