Everyone,

What a journey it has been, tonight was such a blessing from the Holy Spirit. I can’t describe the way it felt being confirmed then having my first communion. This time of year will never be the same for me; I’ve never felt as full of life as I do now. I’m really at a loss for words and want to thank everyone for their prayers and welcome others to share how they are feeling at the moment, God bless & thank you all for the support and questions answered on the forums, hopefully I’ll be ready to answer some questions now 🙂

Andrew

P.S. If anyone’s curious how it turned out with my Dad & communion, it went over really well, he understood everything and we talked about it with no hostility (which I was afraid of).

Praise be to God!

Welcome to the OP and to all others who were confirmed and/or baptized! I can’t describe how happy I am for you! I pray the the peace of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ will remain with you forever! Congratulations!

Congratulations! I’m so glad things went well with your dad, too.

I was received into the Church a few years ago, but I had to wait until this year to be confirmed (next month now!). I’m very excited!!

It’s a great feeling! I wanted to cry when it happen but becoming a police officer I didn’t want to portray that type of image 😛 Update us on when it happens please.

Me too!!!

In Church I felt very calm and happy, and now I just feel exstatic! (sp?).

And our Litany of the Saints was AMAZING.

Same here. Confirmed, first Eucherist, and all that. 👍

One minor point I found amusing. Us new Candidates were supposed to bring in the supplies for the Eucherist. Guess who was chosen to bring in one of the two carafes of wine? Yup, me, the recovered alcoholic 23 years sober in AA.

:rotfl:

(No, I did not partake of the wine. Not needed.)

God has a sense humor. That was true for me last year, I’m a recovering alcoholic also. This year at Vigil, I was an EM, distributing, guess what? yep, the Blood of Christ! God is Good, all the time!

Welcome Home!:highprayer: 👍

After 56 years of wandering in the Protestant desert, my wife and I were confirmed and received the Eucharist for the first time last night. I can still smell the balsam on my forehead. I don’t want to wash it off. Praise be to God

Welcome Home!
I cried, I always do, and I am not a crier by nature. The weather intervened, cold front with rain and wind, a real blue norther. Lit the fire in the vestibule, no procession, but the drama of the dark church enlightened by Christ was still powerful. Exultet was beautiful (I am spoiled our last 2 pastors have had beautiful singing voices) and I had not prepared the candidates for it and they were blown away. We did not do the full immersion, so kids would not have to walk outside dripping wet, so they came dressed already in their white garments, but with the gray robe over them, so we still had the symbolism. The children even the little boys who have been so rambunctious in class all year were angels and their demeanor and reactions eased all my fears about “being ready”. They responded loudly and confidently, received reverently. The biggest bonus was the reaction of non-Catholic relatives of several candidates who could not get over the beauty and power of the Vigil itself, and could not stop saying how impressed they were.

Among my candidates are an impending wedding, a convalidation and baptism of infant, an annulment from civil marriage and anothe impending wedding, but it gets better. Some of the newly baptized children come from families split by recent divorces. In these cases both parents participated, cooperated in the child’s preparation, came to the vigil along with grandparents and other family from both sides. At the kiss of peace I saw both the couples embrace, and one couple walked their children back to the car hand in hand. Grace is powerful.

I was baptised, confirmed and had my first communion last night, too! What an emotional, reverent, wonderful, awe inspiring experience! I was the only one baptised at my church and made my confirmation with my husband so it was even more special. I know it sounds crazy, but I feel different today. 🙂 I feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself.
Anyway, I wanted to congratulate you all and share my story. He is risen!!!🙂

What a joy to welcome so many new members to the Family. Here is a pic of my Godson and I with Bshp. Finn after last evening’s Vigil Mass.

Last year, someone said "Nothing smells better than a newly confirmed Catholic."

Last year, I was a part of Easter Vigil. This year, I will be serving communion on Easter Sunday.

It’s been the greatest journey of my life. 😃

Congratulations to all the new Catholics. :extrahappy:
