Here is my situation. I applied for a very technical job and I am also volunteering for a non profit. I already went through two rounds of interviews for the technical job so I should get a reply (negative or positive) in a couple of weeks at most. A full time technical job will make impossible for me to keep volunteering for the non profit any way. At the non profit are very happy about my contributions but few days ago I received a request to help them with a side project that really goes against my Catholic believes. I am really hoping to get the technical job soon so that I have the perfect excuse to leave the non profit without creating drama. But days are passing without a certain reply. Should I wait a bit more or just tell them that I cannot volunteer for them any more? What would be a polite way to say no?

Or you could just say, “thank you but I can’t take on that side project.”

If you don’t want to volunteer at all anymore, simply tell them “I’ve enjoyed my time volunteering but I am going to move on and do some different things now.”

You do not owe them explanations.

Dear non-profit, I am no longer available to volunteer. Sincerely, Aroosi

“I dont have the bandwidth for that right now”
Thanks.
