I saw someone mention the Confraternity of the Rosary in a post recently. I’m not sure what it is exactly. Can someone tell me about it?

The Confraternity of the Holy Rosary is a Roman Catholic Archconfraternity or spiritual association, under the care and guidance of the Dominican Order. The members of the confraternity strive to pray the entire Holy Rosary weekly.

Welcome! We are headquarters of the Rosary Confraternity of the Catholic Church, a world-wide movement of prayer for peace. We are administered by the Dominican Fathers, Fr. Joseph Sergott, O.P., Director. We are located next to the Holy Rosary Church in Portland, Oregon, USA, the city of roses. Included is how to pray the rosary. Those who pray the Rosary regularly would do well to be enrolled in the Confraternity to gain extra spiritual benefits for each Rosary they pray.

The pros are that the monks and nuns pray for you and you also get spiritual benefits from all the rosaries prayed all over the world. You also get extra plenary indulgences on certain days.

The cons are that you have to pray the Rosary once a week. Of course, if you are already praying the Rosary every day or at least a few times a week, that’s not much of a con.

I joined it last month, because I’m saying a lot of Rosaries anyway, so figured, might as well.
