The Second Commandment for the Scrupulous says that you should not confess doubtful sins. Does that mean you shouldn’t confess doubtful sins while you’re in confession for a sin or sins that you aren’t doubtful about, or does this Commandment just mean not to confess doubtful sins if those are the only sins you feel you should confess?

The commandment holds true for both situations. Only confess sins you know you have committed. If you are doubtful, you should assume that you committed no sin.

The point of confession is not to relieve you of doubt, for that you can talk to a priest without confessing anything. The point of confession, is to relieve you of your sins. Confessing a sin that you are doubtful about is not correct, because you can’t feel sorry for committing a sin, if you’re not certain you did.

If you are uncertain if something you did was a sin or not, talk to a priest, but don’t confess it if you don’t know.

I hope that was helpful!

You would do well to take the entire list of the Ten Commandments for the Scrupulous to your confessor (you know, the one and only priest you confess to) and ask him how each one would apply to you personally. The priest has special graces to help you understand the will of God for you.
