What does God do. Like what is he a manager that just does reviews? My cousin died of cancer. so young. I don’t understand why there has to be so much pain and sufferring. Im confused. She was a good person.

God sustains everything in existance and nothing happens that the God does not will. God allows suffering and evil, the consequences of Original sin and subsequent actual sin, that a greater good may result.

As far as death specifically goes, it’s not an evil thing for the person who passed away, even though it’s difficult on his or her living family members and friends. The person who died (we hope and pray) is now (or will soon enter) paradise with Christ. What on this earth could be better than that?
As far as the big picture of good and evil goes, I heard someone say once that if we didn’t have evil, we wouldn’t be able to perceive good as good; it would merely be neutral. If everything in the world were good, we wouldn’t be able to truly appreciate it as we can now; we would just take it for granted.

Read the Book of Job. Read it over again and over again. JOb was a good man who really had horrible things happen to him in his life.
Moral of the story, God is with us during our tragedies. He cries with us, grieves with us but is there to lift us up as well. And because of his supreme sacrifice on the cross, and through his resurrection and our baptism, we die to sin and are raised again on the last day. We are born for eternal life, so is your cousin. Peace!
