Formerly Deacon Peter, now Father Peter, has been ordained a priest by the Archbishop John Wilson at St. George’s Cathedral in Southwark. I’d like to congratulate you, and I pray that God will keep guiding you through your journey as a priest. I’m sure your wife will also be very happy to see this from heaven.

Prayer for Newly Ordained Priests

O Jesus, our great High Priest, hear our humble prayers
on behalf of Your newly ordained priests. Give them a deep
faith, a bright and firm hope, and a burning love which will
ever increase during their priestly lives.

In their loneliness, comfort them; in their sorrows, strengthen
them; in their frustrations, remind them that suffering purifies
the soul. Show them that they are needed by the Church; by
souls; and for the work of redemption.

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Priests, take to your heart
your sons. Be their comfort, their joy, and their strength. Most
of all, help them to live and to defend the ideals of consecrated
celibacy. In the name of your Son, Jesus, amen.
