Congregation for the doctrine of faith

Hi all Im new to this forum and just had a question for my RC brothers and sisters.
I read somewhere recently that the office of the inquisition was reinstated and renamed the ‘congregation for the doctrine of faith’ I hope I have the name right. I just wanted to know if this is correct and if so, do ‘heretics’ have anything to worry about.

Actually, the orginal name was the Sacred Congregation of the Universal Inquisition. Then Pope St. Pius X in 1908 changed the name to the Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office. Then, It received its current name in 1965 from Pope Paul VI; the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Its primary function is to promote and safeguard the doctrine on the faith and morals throughout the Catholic world.

As for the second part of your question… concerning whether heretics have anything to worry about… what do you think? 😦 I believe that they do, but not from the Church that Christ founded but rather from God Himself.
 
As I understand, the CDF is something for Catholics to think about (not worry about, unless you’re a priest or nun or published theologian or some such).

That said, yes, we DO have a file on you! 😉
