In looking for a Latin Mass nearby, I came across a parish that belongs to the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen. I’ve never heard of them before. Does anyone have any info to share? TIA!

If you look at the index of articles on their site, you can read their theological position…

Thank you both. I didn’t see their website when I was looking for info earlier. I’ll check it out. Thanks again!

This Congregation doesn’t agree with the Vatican 2 changes…it calls them heretical…look for yourself on the website

Read for yourself. I know of them personally and they are fine Catholics.
Yup! About as fine Catholics as any other Catholic who denies the Church and sets them self up as the final authority on everything.

As fine as Catholics for a Free Choice and Call to Action.

When you really think about it, they’re to he Roman Catholic Church what the Eastern Orthodox are to the various Eastern Catholic Churches.

They’re sedevacantists, and they might be Feeneyites too but I could be wrong about this.

As a member of one of those Eastern Catholic Churches all I can say is not quite.

What I meant is that the CMIQ worships and believes in a manner very similar to traditional Roman rite Catholics who are in good standing with Rome, but the CMIQ won’t accept the authority of the Pope and tend to be a bit harsh and reactionary in their view toward those who are in full union with the Pope. Isn’t that sort of like the relationship between Eastern Catholics and Eastern Orthodox? I’m not being sarcastic… not being an Eastern Catholic I’d like to know where I went wrong.

Stay away from them. They are sedevacantists. I’m not sure they have valid sacraments either (depends on the bishop that ordained them). Do not fall into their way of thinking either. I was unfortunate enough to come across one of their message boards a few years ago…the way they condemned the priests, bishops, and popes they disagreed with should be enough to turn any faithful Catholic away from them.

Btw, it’s CMRI. They are traditional Catholics who are also sedevacantists. A sedevacantist is someone who for some reason believes that the current claimant(s) to the papacy is illegitimate. They do not deny the primacy of the Roman Pontiff or reject the Papacy, as some would have you believe.

You may have noticed already, that those who do not really know them are very quick to condemn them.

The CMRI is a sedevacantist group. Stay far, far away from them. They are not any more Catholic then the Protestants. They are heretics.

I am sorry but they are in schism and not in union with the Holy Father.

We can NEVER leave Peter, no matter what. We cannot attend their Masses, even though they be wonderful.

Ave Maria!

The CMRI website cited above says it all:
***
it is paramount to stress that it is because of our belief in the Papacy and in Papal Infallibility that we necessarily must reject Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI as legitimate Popes***.

And these are “fine” Catholics in good standing???

As many others have already stated clearly, beware.
