The Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Refuge were founded by St. John Eudes himself. St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier had joined them, but warfare disrupted their lives. She returned to France to found the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. The two congregations merged in 2014 to become the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd.
