Hello everyone, :extrahappy:

I just want to clarify something about consecrating myself to the Immaculate heart of Mary. Someone mentioned it in a post yesterday and it sounded like such a beautiful thing to do. So I went on to a Dominican rosary site online to get the consecration prayers and read about what it involves. It said

" By our consecration we promise to become dependent on Mary in all things: to offer all our prayers and oblations to God through Mary, and to seek every gift from God through Mary."

I have the greatest love for my Mother in heaven and still want to consecrate myself to her, but does this mean I can’t pray to the saints anymore?
Also, a spiritual confessor recently told me that in order to overcome my “daddy issues”, and build a better relationship with my Father in heaven, I should seek out prayers with the word “Father” in them, and it has helped, but should I be doing this either?
Surely there can be nothing wrong with raying but I’d like to do this properly.

God Bless,
Meadhbh

Of course you can pray to the saints and say prayers with the word Father in them! What you mentioned you read in the book doesn’t mean that you should be eliminating prayer petitions to the saints. The saints are family with us, with Our Lady the most blessed of all.

God bless you!
