"Conservative" catholics are small but tenacious in Massachusetts

An article in The Boston Globe about “conservative” catholics fighting hard in the heart of liberal America (Massachusetts). The article is informative and revealing but takes a slightly negative spin of the “traditional” catholics but in my mind they’re heros.

Conservative Catholics are not welcome in Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Boston, where they are ridiculed and made to suffer the indignities of being shown how many “Catholics” can be found to disagree with them. Fr. Hehir and his predecessor Joe Doolin both feel that providing a sandwich is way better than providing the means to salvation. End of story.
BTW- the “dinosaur” reference is accurate to describe the prevailing attitude.

It is indeed getting very difficult for a “Conservative” Catholic to practice the Faith in MA.

Thanks. I was planning on moving to MA after I retired. I think I will plan to go somewhere else instead.

It would be a great place if you have strong faith, but lousy if you had weak faith.

Strong faith, and you could enlighten others. Weak faith and you might be moved.
