Consoling the Heart of Jesus , A Do-It-Yourself Retreat. By M E Gaitley

Only just started to read the above book. Got as far as section 2 and finding it very inspirational if a little hard going!

Was introduced to the Divine Mercy in this book (see my other thread) and I am hoping that I will get closer to god every day!

Anyone else read or reading the above book and if so what are your views on it? Thanks

I hope that a few others here have read the book. To be truthful, I found it to be too much for my older brain to remember, so I just reduced it to something very simple: Jesus is my friend and, please God, I can try to be His too. As I want Him to be merciful to me, I can, with His grace, show His mercy to others.

For some people this may be easy, but not for me. Charity isn’t my strong point. At all.

Have read a fair bit but not sure the format or writing style is for me. I am currently reading the section at the back, St Faustinas DIary of which I am finding very spiritual and rewarding!
 
I read it. It helped me more than I can say. It’s a wonderful book.
