4 year olds chatter. I know that is how it is. It is very beautiful in a way but sometimes I just would love a little bit of quiet. 😉

In about 10 years I probably wont get her to say anything to me so I keep that in mind.

Am I the only one who has a Chatty Cathy?🙂

Around here it is a CHATTY ADAM and a CHATTY MacKenzie. Adam is 6 years old he never stops talking and I mean never:yup: . MacKenzie on the other hand is only 22 months and her chatter is hard to understand. She chatters and then say OK real clear. We make sure we don’s say ok or we could be in Big trouble:rotfl: .

As for chatty Cathy that would be me and I still talk alot.

GOD BLESS

I am a bad mother, just like my mom. I tune much of it out. I know I shouldn’t. (I hated it when my mother did it to me.) So I end up apologizing a lot when I tune back in again. “I am sorry, what was that?” comes in handy when my mind has wandered.

My son, now 7, would gust up to 300 words a minute when he was 4 and could keep it up for 15 hours straight. As pleasant, positive and funny as he was–it got to the point where at times I got into the car to run an errand and was so distracted that when I started driving I couldn’t remember why were in the car in the first place!!!

I finally had to institute “mommy time-outs,” always presented kindly, but firmly, where I told him I needed 10 minutes to finish a list, write out bills, sign school forms, whatever. It DID help and I think it’s good practice for the mighty mites to learn that good things come from listening, or just being quiet, too.

I have a Jabbering Jesse…

5 years old…repeats everything until acknowledged.

However, he won’t talk in playschool.

Yes, what keeps me sane is knowing that someday they will be grown and gone and I will be wishing my little men would talk to me!

“Mommy Time Outs”…I might have to use that…starting today!

Got to go, little man needs help!!! Oh my!

Lilly is four…wakes up talking…picks up where she left off the night before as I was tucking her in 😃

I always say yeah…yeah…uhhh huuu…

She could be telling me that she wants to join al-kaidah and be a terrorist when she grows up and I’m saying…yeah…o.k. honey

Since I had 3 children in 5 years, I used to thiink, “I wish someone would take the word ‘mommy’ out of the dictionary!” All day long, every day, “mommy this, mommy that, mommy, mommy, mommy” till I would shut myself in the bathroom for some peace.
Now, 40 years later, I wish so much that I could go back and hear it all again.

I usually out-chat my kids, seems like. 😃

I’ve had a few that loved to talk, but more who were very quiet then all of a sudden started asking questions about everything. The one I found hardest when he was little is my youngest; when he’s upset he often clams up and it’s hard to get any information out of him sometimes.

For one, he used to not ask questions in class because the teacher often ended up giving him the answer, and all he wanted was a hint.

LinnieLew, I doubt you will have any problems later – esp if they know they can confide in you.

My daughter is actually ChattyCatty on this forum. I have a different forum now and she is a mod on it and I started another website for some rock ‘n’ roll dudes. I’m kind of decided to go into the website business, so I don’t get as much time over here as I used to get. Shucks because you miss reading all my incredibly long-winded posts. http://bestsmileys.com/sad/10.gif

One person in ncjohn’s party thread asked me for a long post “just for old time’s sake” and I’m telling you I just didn’t have it in me.

This is about the longest I’ve gone for weeks. I’m feeling a bit more normal now that I’ve enlightened all of you with my ability to say little with many words. 😛
