Just finished listening to Richard Rohr’s CD “Silent Compassion: Finding God in Contemplation.” Also, have his book " What Mystics Know:Seven Pathways to your Deeper Self" on my Kindle for daily reading experience.

What did you think of it?

You will likely find that quite a few regulars on this forum do not care for him, or have serious reservations about some of his teachings. I have read a few of his books and heard a spoken presentation or two (not the ones you mentioned, however). I appreciate and agree with much of what he says, but I also do find some of his ideas rather challenging.

Have been a contemplative all my life. Rohr is a little too “pop” for me. I greatly prefer early Thomas Merton or all of Thomas Keating on the subject of contemplation. The great mystics are wonderful to read as well. St. John of the Cross is a favorite of mine.

Different strokes for different folks. I am not a spiritual snob, I like it all.If someone’s words motivate us toward good thoughts and good actions then it works just like it is supposed to.
