Hi everyone, I’m interested in learning about Thomism and Neo-Scholasticism. What classics (apart from those ‘original texts’ like Summa) should I look for in the two fields? What are some contemporary authorities in Neo-Scholasticism and Aristotelian Philosophy (from a Catholic perspective) whom I should never miss?

Thank you!

By the way, does anyone know Edward Feser? Is he in good accord with the Church? How about the classical philosophers like Lagrange, Maurice de Wult, McCorick, Mercier, Noonan, Gilson, Lonergan, Maritain, etc?

I know very little about Philosophy so the list of names above come largely from previous threads on CAF.

In Christ,
Michael

Feser’s good stuff, particularly his book on Thomas. I know he’s got a new one out, and I hope to read it this year. He’s good.

Lonergan’s very difficult stuff; you’d almost need to be his brother, I think, to understand his big book.
