Not according to the Church… the EF is absolutely NOT a more orthodox expression of Catholic doctrine. I recommend giving
Summorum Pontificum a read to get Pope Benedict’s thoughts on the matter and the truth.

Second, the word orthodox is not synonymous with the word traditional. The word orthodox means ‘right belief’ and traditon is not always right. Too often that mistake is made.
 
I’ve read SP several times; I’ve read many other books; and I’ve attended the EF and the OF. Based on my reading and experience, I concluded that the EF is a more orthodox expression of Catholic doctrine. While not superior to the OF in the essentials, I believe the non-essential elements of the EF add depth and richness. The noble simplicity of the OF is good but, in my view, too much was removed; for example, the prayers at the foot of the altar and the rich offertory prayers. I believe it would be a great improvement if the OF reclaimed these elements.

I suppose my main issue is not with the OF itself, but rather with the way it is celebrated in most places. It is truly beautiful when the OF Mass is celebrated ad orientem, with a good mix of Latin and the vernacular, and when communion is distributed at an altar rail. In other words, the EF only appears to be better when the OF is celebrated in certain ways. Nobody would argue that the EF was more orthodox if our priests celebrated the OF in a traditional manner. And this traditional manner would require the elimination of altar girls and other novelties such as Communion in the hand.

My apologies if you were just trying to express your opinion, but it seemed like you were attempting to say that your opinion was in line with the Church’s mind on the subject which, of course, it is not.
