I just finished watching the first season on Netflix and am planning to catch up on the second season through iTunes this week. Anyone else here find the show interesting?

POTENTIAL SPOILERS

I find the whole concept to be very intriguing. They seem to be playing with the idea that your destiny is always what it was meant to be. It’s a really fun scenario to think about. I also like how they interweave the story between the “present” and the past. The format definitely keeps the viewer on their toes.

I don’t think the show is appropriate for the whole family, but it’s been cleaner than some of the other fare that’s come out in the last couple of years. I liked Battlestar Galactica, but that show really pushed some boundaries on what you should show on television. Continuum has thus far been tamer and more “mainstream” regarding where it goes. Off the top of my head, there’s only been a small handful of scenes that were indecent or too violent for my taste. I guess I’d say I appreciate the milder tone thus far. Hopefully, as I catch up on season 2, it doesn’t change too much.

Only that Rachel Nichols/Keira loses her skintag.
LOL. It was very noticeable during the first half of season 1, but I think I generally stopped paying much attention after that. It’s kind of like the woman from Warehouse 13 with the really big lips. It kind of fades as I become more familiar with a character and their physical appearance is less relevant to the character.

I’ve been following the show too and I like it quite a bit. It’ll be interesting to see how they tie it together with the Liber8 group definitely being bad guys, yet fighting for the just cause.

I just started rewatching the first episode with my wife (she hasn’t seen any of it yet), and there’s a one-off character that says essentially the same thing. Liber8 is doing the right thing by the wrong methods (which, then, makes it the wrong thing, I suppose). It’s just a fun exercise for thinking. You want to root for their ideals to some extent, which makes their actions even more of a cringe. It’s a very interesting dynamic they’re putting the audience through.
