The fact that the Catholic church has no opposition to its practitioners working for bank/charging interest one loans and that the originally any such interest was sinful
Please start threads on usury, Galileo, Copernicus, etc, if you want to discuss them. This thread is about contraception.

As to usury, clearly you have a misunderstanding of what it is, what the Chuch teaches about it, and how the monetary system developed.

I disagree- I clearly stated that the advice I was going to give was not coming from someone inline with church teaching, and made only the statement that permanent sterilization is not a prudent option.
You are allowed to diagree. However, the moral law of the Church has it that no Catholic may make a statement on any Catholic space that is not in full communion with the Magisterium. This is a Catholic space. Therefore, to be faithful and obedient to the Magisterium, none of us may make such statements on these forums.

Did you not hear about the bishop in South America whom Benedict XVI excommunicated for making the same statement that you made, “the use of the pill should be done with a condom.” Pope Benedict went ballistic on this bishop and has excommunicated him.

This is an area where one must treat very lightly or suffer the rath of the Church. Let’s be careful what we say in public, to other Catholics and in Catholic spaces. The situation is very dangerous right now.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂
