Contradiction in 2 Kings?

In the 5th verse of 2 Kings 18, it talks about the King of Judah, Hezekiah, and says about him “There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him.”

2 Kings 23:25 says “Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.”

How come it says about both Kings of Judah “no one like him came before or after?”

Just from reading what you wrote, not reading any other part of this in context, and not being familiar with 2 Kings AT ALL, it could be like comparing St. Francis of Assisi to St. Thomas Aquinas. There has been none like them since and though they were both dedicated to God, they didn’t have the same personality or the same gifts. There have been none like them, but, that’s not comparing them to each other in as much as one loves God better, but, merely, to say St. Francis is not like St. Thomas Aquinas is not insulting either of them or dismissing anything or contradicting myself, it just points out that both St. Francis and St. Thomas Aquinas both have something to bring to the table, but, it’s not the same thing. There is nobody like St. Thomas Aquinas either before or after him. There is nobody like St. Francis of Assisi either before or after him. This means that these two men, though both great, aren’t like each other and very unique.

Either that or it’s hyperbole…
