A fact not noted by the whiners is that this was an all women’s college until the 1970s. This sculpture is a very nice representation of the change to being co-ed. The sculpture is, in fact named “New Friends”.

I like it, it’s a very nice sculpture. Silly for folk to read something into it that wasn’t intended. The girl looks pretty relaxed to my mind, not like she’s hanging on his every word.

What a touchy society. Don’t try to read too much into objects, try to enjoy them. If it was offensive I would say get rid of it, but what is not offensive to me might be offensive to someone else. How in the world are we going to please most of the people without upsetting them? Wow, we just got to try to get past these little things in life and concentrate on the important work in life. This stuff is so petty.

And how does the school know what was, is, or will be offensive? Who has a right to go through life without being offended? I can understand that something can offend a lot of people, but this is just down-right complaining for its own sake.

HO HUM…why are you all giving these people publicity? Just ignore them and like a child having a tantrum who is ignored, they will go stop and go away. Giving them publicity just encourages them to greater efforts.

This whole thing is just stupid. Women are being enslaved, having their genitals mutilated, and getting abused by their boyfriends/husbands and this what the feminists care about. And the first thing I saw was a man flirting! Ridiculous.

Whats really funny to think about, most feminists today are HUGE Hillary Clinton supporters, even though Hillary was very publicly cheated on by her husband, and stayed with him after.LOL I cant believe ANY feminist would back such a woman!

That’s an interesting viewpoint. My perception of the Clintons was always that they had something of a “don’t ask don’t tell” understanding. But, that’s just my speculation.
Fortunately, my husband hasn’t put me in the situation to find out for sure what I’d do, but I can’t say with certainty that I would leave in the event of an affair. I’ve known many couples who have overcome infidelity and have come out stronger. Maybe there’s something to be said for fighting for your family and marriage, especially after decades and kids! But even if I would have made a different choice, I can’t insert myself into someone else’s marriage and be upset that they didn’t end it. That’s just nutty. I don’t know what goes on behind closed doors and it’s none of my business anyway.
But I definitely don’t look down on Hillary because Bill cheated. That one is on him.

Wouldnt matter, a real feminist would have left the cheater and went on their own, to prove to the world they are a strong independent woman, not one that needs her husband around, that is like the complete opposite of what a feminist would do…Im pretty sure they only support her SOLELY because she is a female.
Id like to ask a feminist about this though, Im curious how they would respond.

Eh, there’s a lot of feminists who dislike Hilary Clinton. Feminism isn’t one monolithic ideology with its own bible. Like religion, there are various interpretations of the same basic ideas.
Feminists with more leftist political leanings (and I don’t mean left as in Democrat, I mean left as in socialist or anarchist) dislike her because she’s pretty much a face of the establishment. While she, like most of her part, might shout “change and progress” that change is just another pro-war, highly nationalist player.
Likewise, there’s a lot of feminists I know personally who would try to make it work if their partner cheated on them. Because the love them. Strong and independent woman they might be, but if they believe in forgiveness and second chances they are likely to give them. I also know a few Catholic women who’d have slapped divorce papers down if they were cheated on as many times as Bill cheated on Hilary.
