Who says latin is dead?!

My favorite: “Quid Nunc?” - What now?! (to be said aggresively when you beat someone at something.)
 
I would like to learn latin! I can sing it, but I do not know what I am saying.

What program, book, etc do you reccommend? I am also thinking of teaching my children too! I know it will improve their English and spelling skills.

I know Rosetta Stone makes a good product for the computer. It is on the expensive side ($305 through Amazon).

As for books, there are many out there. Cambridge and Wheelock are the most famous of the bunch. There is also books on Ecclesiastical Latin.

As for me, I may take Latin at U of Detroit since they offer it in the evening. It is only about 20 minutes away from me.

They do?? Awesome! My husband needs Latin/Greek for the STL. I wonder if he could get approval to take it at UofD!

Yep.

Latin I is being offered on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:15 - 6:30.
Latin II is being offered on Thursday at 6:40 - 9:10.

I did not see Greek on the schedule. If you find an evening class, let me know. I will be needing it too.

I am learning Latin through an online study group. You just have to buy the book and you can join or leave any time. I am having fun so far.
 
I searched the vulgate and the word for “bless” is probably “benedicat”
so the sentence should be “Deus benedicat Americam”

I don’t have a Latin dictionary:o

Thanks…we used to sing it in Latin class back in the 8th grade but I just couldn’t seem to get beyond Deus…Americam???:banghead:
BTW, I posted it on CrazyInternet Junkie Trivia & Stuff so if you want to answer the question…there you go!
