Brush up on your Latin skills with these little nuggets:

Ad eundum quo nemo ante iit - To boldly go where no man has gone before
Code:
**Animadvertistine, ubicumque stes, fumum recta in faciem ferri?** - *(At a barbeque) Ever noticed how wherever you stand, the smoke goes right into your face?*

**Balaenae nobis conservandae sunt!** - *Save the whales!*

**Braccae illae virides cum subucula rosea et tunica Caledonia-quam elenganter concinnatur!** - *Those green pants go so well with that pink shirt and the plaid jacket!*

**Credo elvem etiam vivere** - *I believe Elvis lives*

**Da mihi sis bubulae frustrum assae, solana tuberosa in modo gallico fricta, ac quassum lactatum coagulatum crassum** - *Give me a hamburger, french fries, and a thick shake*

**Homo proponit, sed Deus disponit** - *Man proposes, but God disposes*

**Monstra mihi pecuniam!** - *Show me the money!*

**Ne auderis delere orbem rigidum meum!** - *Don't you dare erase my hard disk!*

**Non erravi perniciose!** - *I did not commit a fatal error!*

Who says latin is dead?!

My favorite: “Quid Nunc?” - What now?! (to be said aggresively when you beat someone at something.)

I would like to learn latin! I can sing it, but I do not know what I am saying.

What program, book, etc do you reccommend? I am also thinking of teaching my children too! I know it will improve their English and spelling skills.

CATAPVLTVM HABEO.
NISI PECVNIAM OMNEM MIHI DABIS AD CAPVT TVVM SAXVM IMANE MITTAM.

I have a catapult, give me all of the money before I hurl a large rock at your head.

I know Rosetta Stone makes a good product for the computer. It is on the expensive side ($305 through Amazon).

As for books, there are many out there. Cambridge and Wheelock are the most famous of the bunch. There is also books on Ecclesiastical Latin.

As for me, I may take Latin at U of Detroit since they offer it in the evening. It is only about 20 minutes away from me.

For current events, according to Nuntii Latini, “Deep throat” is “Gula profunda”.

Yep.

Latin I is being offered on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:15 - 6:30.
Latin II is being offered on Thursday at 6:40 - 9:10.

I did not see Greek on the schedule. If you find an evening class, let me know. I will be needing it too.

I am learning Latin through an online study group. You just have to buy the book and you can join or leave any time. I am having fun so far.

I searched the vulgate and the word for “bless” is probably “benedicat”
so the sentence should be “Deus benedicat Americam”

I don’t have a Latin dictionary:o
