Not sure where to to post this…

What do you all think of the Conversations with God books?
Just curious?

Love them! I think they are so rich in the wisdom of the saints and aren’t cheesy, even though they are written primarily for lay people. It’s so hard to find decent spiritual reading and meditation material specifically for lay people that goes deeper then just Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul type stuff.

The quotations alone are worth getting the books for. And I’m not necessarily a great fan of Opus Dei either so it’s not as if you have to ascribe to all that they are in order to enjoy the books.

Are we talking about the same books? The books I was referring to were written by a man who claims that God spoke to him directly .

Oh no, sorry, different book. Actually, now that you mention that I did read parts of that book several years ago. I would take it all in with a grain of salt - there was some decent reflections in there but he isn’t a saint and the Church certainly doesn’t endorse his writing. Sorry about the confusion - if you get a chance get the IN Conversation with God series - it’s about 40 times better then the book that this thread is actually about.

I’ll look into it.
