When you cling to a belief in spite of reason it is called FAITH.
This is why we follow the very words of Jesus when He told us that "this is My Body, this is My Blood and meant every word literally. It absolutely goes against our human reason, but is not beyond the power of God. Satan commanded Jesus to make bread out of stones and He rebuked Satan. But Jesus commanded bread and wine to become His Body and Blood, and it became so and continues to do so when the words of consecration, the very words that were spoken by Our Lord Himself, are spoken by His priest. We believe this, even though it is against reason, because God Himself said it. And its’ not that tough to be a Baptist, i’ve known people who’ve done it hundreds of times.😃

Who cares? Start your own thread, already.

I didn’t start this **** they did. I only made one comment and then they started in. So don’t tell me tell them.

On the contrary, if protestants find a teaching hard or difficult to follow, it is so easy to…just start your own “church” where you can call the shots and believe any ol’ thing that suits your fancy. Let’s see now, how many different kinds of Baptists are there at last count? Should I start a tally? And ALL correct and led by the Holy Ghost too. Boy, is he a busy fella, just keeping the Baptists straight… not to mention the 29,000 other protestant “churches.”

Here are just a few revkevin, if you would like I’ll pull up the rest. This points out the “unity” of protestants in general and of Baptists in particular. Which one are you, or is yours a roll-your-own?

His brothers and sisters did not believe he was who he said he was. When he said this is your mother he was saying she is the mother of us all and when he said this is your son it meant that we are all children of her, spiritually not physically.
Where is the reference in my KJV that shows the passage where the brothers and sisters doubt him please?

While some of you continue attacking Rev Kevin’s faith, would anyone who keeps bringing up taking the Eucharist literally, tell me if you take everything literally in Scripture? For instance do all Catholics believe in the literal 6 day, 24 hr day Creation where God told us the evening and the morning was a day? Women to keep silent in churches? Etc.

And if someone would like to address how saying someone can’t be saved if they know the Church but do not enter it or remain in it fits with Christ telling us not to judge another’s salvation, I would be greatly appreciative.

We aren’t being asked to apply the criteria to people we know (unless they are people over whose souls we have charge, such as our children and god-children) but rather, so that we can know for ourselves where we stand.

No one is saying that Rev Kevin is definitely damned, since although clearly he received a Catholic education, no one except him knows whether he was capable of understanding what he was being taught, due to a severe learning disability, or to some other factor that interfered with his capacity to understand the meaning of what he was being told.

Do you NOT, as a Catholic, take the Eucharist literally? If you do not, then you are a protestant. Some things in the bible are allegorical, I am sure, some things are a matter of historical record. Christ’s words regarding the Eucharist were meant to be taken literally, else our faith is in vain. And given the state that our Churches are in today, thanks to liberals and feminist “nuns”, perhaps it would not be a bad idea if some women would keep silent in Church. And elsewhere too.

Do you miss the point of Lumen Gentium? We are are not judging someone else’s salvation, it is the Church that is delineating how somneone may be in error and fail to gain salvation. Does the Church NOT have the authority to determine this. Remember…binding and loosing?

Not sure what you mean here. As Sola Scriptura he should be able to show us in the Bible where he is getting his information from??

If you are a practicing Roman Catholic then you follow the teachinn of the Church. I will refer you to CCC 846

God Bless You…

And being a Catholic isn’t that hard. Just do and believe what someone tells you to and there you have it. Obey like a robot.
That is an offensive post towards the Catholic faith. It’s not always about obedience. There are several saints (and future saints) who became holy by NOT obeying.

Actually I take a little pride in the fact that I try and be as obedient as I can to Christ. I read the CCC and try and be obedient to it as well. That being said the latest model in terminator was a T2000 but I think Arnold’s model was a T1000. So being a little conservative I would like to be the robot T1000 I think…😉

Don’t sweat the :banghead:

God Bless You…:signofcross:

Why the presonal attack? Capable of understanding, due to a severe learning disability, some other factor that interfered with his capacity to understand.
Just because I don’t agree with everything the CC teaches don’t mean I have a learning disability. Personal attacks are not allowed and I will report this.
