I converted to Catholicism this past Easter. I remember the season of Lent and Advent quite well. What and how is the season of Ephinany celebrated and observed?

Epiphany isn’t a season, it’s a feast day within the Christmas season. We celebrate it on January 6th this year. Epiphany celebrates the coming of the wise men. It’s celebrated differently in different cultures as far as traditions go.

It’s an observance of a Biblical event which is used to extend the Christmas season. It represents that Jesus came for the salvation of Gentiles, also.

Scripturally, the magi went away by a different way than they had arrived. This is sometimes interpreted as how our life is changed after meeting Jesus.

Epiphany is the celebration of Christ’s manifestation with the coming of the magi. Also celebrated, as a sub theme you could say, is Christ’s baptism and/or the wedding at Cana. In the east we celebrate Theophany (same day) which is Christ’s baptism.
