Am I the only convert who feels mixed up sometimes, missing the folks and things from the previous religious groups but still glad I’m here?

It just means you have a loving, loyal heart. Those folk are still your brothers and sisters. They’re part of your history; but I’m glad your’re glad you’re a Catholic! I hope and pray that you have many good Catholic experiences, and good Catholic friends. Love, Trishie! 🙂

For sure!
I feel this way from time to time…Miss a lot of the old stuff that went along with the way I used to live
At the end of the day though, I wouldn’t change this for anything!

I get lonely and miss my old Church sometimes - it was a wonderful community; it felt like my family. It was really, really hard to leave.

I’m starting to get that feeling in the Catholic Church now, too, though - it was neat today that one of the kids ran up to me and hugged me and started telling me all about her day. It really made me feel “at home”. 🙂

PS: A couple of weeks ago, Father yelled at me for accidentally leaving a light on upstairs - I guess you know they’re not worried about you leaving them, if they can feel comfortable to yell at you for that sort of thing. 😛

“Home” is not only where they have to take you in no matter what; it’s also where they can yell at you, and you won’t go anywhere, because there’s really no place else to go.

Definitely feel that way sometimes. My old church was a very social, family-like atmosphere. Not to mention the excellent worship music. I still have a lot of friends that go to that church. But it’s not home in the way that the Catholic church is. There is a such a richness to the Catholic faith that can’t be found anywhere else.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. 🙂
