I’m not a convert to Eastern Catholicism (yet), but wanted to mention that my beloved mother-in-law, who was born and raised a Roman Catholic, so enjoyed going to her local Russian Orthodox Catholic Church (that may not be the official name). She told me about the friendliness she experienced there, the kindness which stood in sharp contrast to the treatment she had experienced from her Roman Catholic group. She attended the Russian Catholic Church for many years, loving the people there and the kind pastor and much preferring them to those she had known at her Roman Catholic Novus Ordo group.
However, she never switched over to Eastern Catholicism. I think the fact that her whole family was Roman Catholic and the fact that she could simply keep attending the Eastern Russian Catholic Church without ever switching over was the reason for her not changing to Eastern Catholicism. If she had been required to switch over in order to keep attending, I believe she would have done so. She loved it that much!
