As a revert, Catholic Answers had the largest influence as we didn’t have cable TV and didn’t watch much TV anyway.
Tangentially, my in-laws are Southern Baptist and from their several times of viewing Mother A. EWTN piqued their curiosity so they drove to the Hanceville shrine, bought a Divine Mercy medal for our son! and could speak mostly about their amazement at actually seeing in person a nun ( I suppose to them it’s a consecrated virgin) and “all the gold” (which I explained was fitting for the King of Kings and Prince of Peace.) That they actually went at ages 83 and 82 for that 45minute car ride and foot tour is a miracle in itself. 2 years later on their next visit out west with us, they attended a Catholic Baptism and First Holy Communions during our annual homeschool mass. They were astonished to learn that immersion is not required for Baptism and that Catholics do not “re-baptize” those of other churches when becoming Catholic. They seem more interested in Catholic “practices” rather than doctrine at times, but it’s important to point out and explaine doctrine once you answer/address their initial curiosity.
