Did Paramount Network make the right call?
Has Live PD been problematic as well? The show was problematic in a couple of ways that reality shows tend to be, gawking at people’s odd misfortunes. Can anyone think of a good reason for it to continue? (There might be some. I don’t know. It’s why I’m asking.)
I’ve never watched that one, so I couldn’t tell you. I do understand that this thread is probably more about the reason and climate in which they are being cancelled. Just, my first thought about Cops being cancelled was hmm maybe it wasn’t good for us anyhow.Has Live PD been problematic as well?
Good point. This is why I stopped watching American Idol. The show was problematic in a couple of ways that reality shows tend to be, gawking at people’s odd misfortunes.
Are you on a treadmill pretending to run from the cops? Pretending to chase down the suspect? Either way, it sounds pretty motivating.Shame. I rather enjoyed watching it at the Gym…
How, Welshrabbit?Cops and Live PD are both very similar. They entertain by kicking people when they’re down.
Which is to say the cancellation was long overdue…Cops shouldn’t be canceled anymore than The Bachelor, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Say Yes to the Dress, The Dog Whisperer, American Pickers, 90 Day Fiance and the list goes and on and on.
So why on earth do you even care what is run on TV? Did you think that those shows you cited were contributing something positive to the common life, even though you never watched them?I personally don’t watch television anymore. I am too busy and don’t enjoy it.
There is no reason to believe that there is much reality to be found on what has been called “reality TV.”A big portion of the population is not law enforcement, and a show like Cops shows that portion of the population what a “day in the life of a cop” is like.
Asking you why you even care was insulting and shaming? I thought my post was giving objective reasons why these shows don’t serve the general good, since they are shows that you have said yourself you don’t ever watch.I don’t care what is run on TV, but I care immensely that the demands of a mob are being met by local governments, corporations, and the entertainment industry and that people like you are falling all over yourself to shame and insult me for daring not to agree.
