I think the Copts almost came into Full Communion with the Catholic Church a while back. Only a part did, which is now the Coptic Catholic Church. I’m not entirely sure on this, so someone can correct me.

Aren’t the Copts not in union with the Eastern Orthodox? I thought they were Oriental Orthodox, which is a separate communion altogether.

Well, they can lay claim to Apostolic Succession (Saint Mark).

That’s pretty much all I need to know for me to :tiphat:

Andrew,

The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria is currently not in full or canonical communion with the Eastern Orthodox Churches. They are indeed an Oriental Orthodox Church.

There is, however, an Eastern Orthodox Church in Alexandria called the Greek Orthodox Church in Alexandria.

There is also the Coptic Catholic Church which is in full communion with the Catholic Communion of Churches.

God bless,

Rony

I dont get how you can say he sounds very “Catholic” when he calls the Immaculate Conception, and Papal infallibility wrong.

“Very” doesn’t mean “totally”.

What he does espouse that is Catholic is almost spot on.

When he’s right, he’s absolutely right.
