I apologize if this question has been asked before. I tried searching but could not see this issue addressed.

As you all know, the Coptic Church has suffered a great deal as demonstrated by the martyrdom of 21 Coptic Christians by ISIS. Recently Pope Francis offered a Mass for these martyred Christians, but it made me wonder - could Pope Francis or a future pope eventually canonize these 21 individuals? They have recently been canonized by the Coptic Pope Tawadros II - can Pope Francis do the same?

It may be possible, but, generally, the Catholic Church does not canonize non-Catholics.

The Coptic Catholic Church is an Alexandrian Rite particular Church in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church
