Boy am I confused!!

In the US Corpus Christi is celebrated on the Sunday after Trinity sunday in both the EF and OF, correct?
In my EF ordo, it says the feast (I class) is on a Thursday (after Trinity Sunday).

In that case would the Mass of the Thursday after Trinity Sunday be of the Vigil of the Nativity of John the Baptist in a country that celebrated Corpus Christi on Sunday?

On the Second sunday after pentecost, it has a note saying in the US the solemnity may be celebrated on that Sunday, but the Office remains that of DOM. II post Pentecosten.
It says:
Today, in the United States, by Apostolic Indult, never recinded by the new general rubrics (since 25 Nov. 1885), the external solemnity of the Feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated. The Office remains that of the II sunday after Pentecost. The Masses are celebrated as on the feast.

If so, what happens to the office of Corpus Christi??

Is it transferred with the feast to a Sunday? (I hope not omitted in any way)
What about I Vespers and Compline the day before?
I understand the octave has been repressed.
In my Liber Usualis it has the feast on thursday, then on the Second Sunday after Pentecost
in says in a footnote : “Hodie fit Solemnitas externa Ssmi Sacramenti. Missa post Nonam et Processio ut in Festo.”
Which basically means for anyone who doesn’t know latin, “Today is the External Solemnity of the Most Holy Sacrament. The Mass after None and the procession as in the Feast.”
What does that mean?
Is this the remnant of the Octave?
Is the feast celebrated on Thursday and then kind of “recelebrated” with a procession and all on the Sunday after?
There is also a commemoration of the octave of Corpus Christi on the Second Sunday after Pentecost in the Liber Usualis, but not in my hand missal.

(The Liber Usualis is the 1962 Edition, BTW)

What about the OF. Is the office celebrated on Sunday or thursday?

Anyone know how it all works?
Any one who knows, please, please help a poor, confused liturgical enthusiast:D

What is an external solemnity, anyway?

Thanks so much!

The office and mass for Corpus Christi for the 1962 form is the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, this year June 23rd. In the US this is not Holy Day of obligation, but the celebration itself is moved only for the new form. For this reason this year there is nothing about the Vigil.

According to the new form as far as I know there is no Vigil for the Nativity of St John the Baptist, neither this year nor otherwise.
