During the Rosary there is a prayerful prson who is saying the Hail Mary in a manner that is quite politically correct by saying ‘you’ and blessed are ‘you’ and blessed is the fruit of your womb… etc… I am not going to be commenting to this person but I wonder if this is a respectful wayl of addressing our Blessed mother. We haven’t changed this way of addressing Our Lady, and The Our Father still has the old, gentle and respectful way of addressing the first person.
Do you agree that the respectful manner of prayer in these instances are to continue with the old English due to the fact we are dealing with God and The Immaculate Conception personified.

Is there ever a reason to convert to this type of English.

It may simply be the words the individual learned when they first learned the prayer. There is nothing disrespectful about using “you” instead of “thou” or “thee” since it is proper modern English. It is also the wording used in the lectionary that we use at Mass.
