Hello everyone. I had a question that hopefully someone could help me with? There is MORE behind this question but wanted to see if there was a way to verify if someone is actually a nun?

The priest was the one who warned some of the congregation to not provide financial support any longer? Hard to swallow as she has always been super involved with many peoples lives.

Your pastor knows more about the situation than anyone, and it’s probably information of a personal nature that need not be shared with the congregation. If there’s something more about his advice that is troubling you, speak to him privately about your concerns.

We have and there was an issue of her potentially not being who she says she is? That’s why I was just trying to see if there was a way to verify her credentials? Hard to believe. Thank you all for your time in responding.

There should be an Office for Religious Life in your diocese. I can’t remember the exact name, but it’s something along those lines. They should know if she’s legit.

When this happens, there was often something published by the Bishop’s office. Check their website.

Thank you for responding and helping. We were told today she resigned from her order as the bishop was going to get involved. So sad. It’s unfortunate but she will definitely be in our prayers. Thank you all for your feedback. Thank you.

Contact the religious community- her “superiors”…“either she is or she is not…”.
