Make sure you do this with gentleness and love, otherwise you could cause someone to run from your guidance to the Church.I will do all I can and all what is in my power to bring this little princess to the “right” Church.
1 Peter 3: 15-16
Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence…
You mention your sorrow or disappointment with your children and step-child not contacting you very much. Make sure you when you do have contact with them that you don’t dwell on the past… but rejoice with the conversation and contact at hand.
You being the only Catholic in the family, your daughter doesn’t know the Faith of the Catholic Church to bring it to your granddaughter.
Keep reaching out in love to them and stay in contact.
Gently share your stories of faith - at the right times - in the right way - so there is an attraction. Many people join the Church because they saw the Church in the life of their friend or family.
I could see in your earlier post that you have been hurt by your loved ones.
My prayer is that you find peace to replace the pain.Life sometimes is not fair, not fair at all. But **it was a great day **though, and the best present I got was when I came home and was greeted by a happy Husky. I don’t know about you, but I know for sure that living with a dog is far better then with a human.
Don’t share with your family that living with a dog is better than living with people. That can hurt really bad to hear dad say.
Seeing peace in Grandpa and seeing his love and excitement for the Church - can make your little Princess curious about the Faith. Don’t ever feel her coming into the Catholic Church is something you must accomplish.
Never forget she has been Baptized in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. She has the same graces in this Baptism as the child baptized at the Cathedral by the Bishop.
Rejoice that your daughter did come back to the Lutheran Church - (Even if may be for a wrong reason - for the “cool” wedding.) Maybe the fact is she heard “a calling back to God” even if she didn’t recognize it. Rejoice that your daughter knew to Baptize her precious daughter - even if it appears she’s not expecting to raise her in a church.
Your daughter might not even recognize God working in her own life right now. Your daughter might not want to admit God is working in her life. Be gentle in speaking to your daughter about God - so she doesn’t repress hearing God call her just to be the opposite of dad.
I see God working slowly and gently in your daughter with what you shared with us.
Thank you for sharing with us.
