A member of a Czech-American page on Facebook has posted something disturbingly anti-Catholic. “Many Bohemians and Moravians were tortured here at the White Tower and other dungeons for not converting to the faith of the Jesuits. Between 1610-1620 Bohemia had about 3 million residents of which over 92% were Protestant. In only 15 years the Roman church through murders, intimidation, tortures, fines, using military against citizens, burning Bibles, separating families and expulsions from the country forced Christians to convert to Romanism only 8 % remained were Evangelical. When persecution comes in our time, will you become an apostate and convert to a pagan worldwide religion or will you resist with your life?” He claims to have provided citations in the comment section, but I can’t read Czech. How can I refute this claim, and defend the holiness of the Church?

Ignore it. Not worth your time, considering that people who are so anti-Catholic will never listen.

I don’t think this is really worth your time, but if you want to acquire sufficient knowledge to refute it, you need to read up on the Thirty Years War. This was nearly entirely politically motivated war of succession, and the alliances where complex, with some Protestant (Hussite or Protestant Union) territories aligning with (Catholic) Ferdinand II and others with (Protestant) Frederick V. Frederick V was the loser, resulting in confiscation of lands and dominance of Catholic Ferdinand, who did indeed impose his religion on his subjects.
