Hi Rob

My Muslim family live in Sale, about two miles from the palace in Rabat. Your videos have stirred many happy memories of my visits there.

King Mohammed is not merely a secular monarch. He is the ‘Amir al-Mu’minin’ - Commander of the Faithful - the spiritual leader of Morocco. He enjoys very great respect because of this. That two religious leaders come together in this way is a great blessing; a cause for celebration. May the Exalted bless them both.

Interesting. Isn’t Amir al Mu’mineen a title that was given to the old Caliphs? And the Sharif of Mecca, to be sure.

That’s right. The king is the Amir of Moroccan Muslims only. The title has been held by the Sultan’s of that country for yonks.
