Apostolic Penitentiary grants special Plenary Indulgences during pandemic Spirituality
The Apostolic Penitentiary has granted special ways to get a Plenary Indulgence to those suffering from COVID-19 who do certain prayerful offering-up type activities; those who care for them, including family caregivers and health care workers; and those who offer certain prayers and activities for the end of the pandemic, including the usual “BIg Four” activities one does to get a plenary normally (visiting the Blessed Sacrament/ Eucharistic Adoration, or saying the Rosary, or making Stations…

Thanks, does this apply to those just staying at home for the most part due to the lockdown/community quarantine?
All public Masses are cancelled in our archdiocese. Do not know also where to get to confession, so act of contrition will suffice for now.

I saw something else posted today about general absolution being suggested by the Vatican. Anyone have anything on that?

There have been discussions whether or not one must make up all of the communions and confession when they are able, possibly one communion per plenary. If the suspension from mass lasts several weeks/months and you receive a plenary per day, your debt could accumulate rapidly.

This priest from the Divine Mercy gave a very good explanation that has been missing from the declaration of the Apostolic Penitentiary. Please scroll to 2:17 for the comment of the conditions for the plenary.
