I’m 27 and I was raised Catholic. Family on both sides solid Catholics, nuns in our family the whole works. Somewhere along 17 years of age I left the church and became Mormon. Not a high point in my life as I reflect now. My son when he was born was baptized Catholic and we attended but I was pulled back in to Mormonism. After serious prayer and the constant tug I returned to church this Sunday. I spoke with the pastor and he welcomed me back with open arms. I have had a mini reconciliation but he wants me come later this week for a full confession and to talk which I plan on doing. I am just wondering if there is anyone else like me on here that got lost in Mormonism and returned to Catholicism. Also if anyone has any good tips on a catholic study bible for women I would super appreciate your tips.
Hi Shecha91. I’m glad you came back to Holy Mother Church. I fell away into evangelicalism and then came back to the Church. I’m very glad I did. I don’t have any specific advice for you except do your homework and study up on Church history and what we believe. You will appreciate the Church and enjoy Mass much more if you understand Catholicism.
Hi, welcome home and glad you are back in the fold!
With respect to a Catholic study Bible specifically for women, I don’t know if one of those exists, but I do know there is a Catholic women’s Bible study program called “Walking with Purpose” that is given at many parishes. You might look to see if there are any Walking with Purpose groups near you. You might also be able to do some of the study on the web, but joining a group might help you to meet other Catholic women in your area so you’ll have some Catholic friends. Good luck and God bless!
