Just wondering if this is ok? One of my dogs seems to hunger for the word of God, she’s eaten 2 Bibles and an expensive Missal. And yes, before you ask, I am now much more careful with them.

I am working on an art piece in which I shredded an old picture book (photographs of people) and I’m paper macheing the pieces onto a large canvas. It’s going to look really cool when done, it creates kind of a tiled look, coloured tiles mixed with typed pieces of words and phrases.

I used some of the darker shreds to create the 3 Calvary crosses on the bottom left side. I kind of like to think that it’s a representation of humanity, of our Church, and of the sacrifice if the cross. So… naturally, my brain keeps shifting my focus back to my torn up Missal and bible… wondering if I can’t snip (not shred) verses to insert here and there in my collage?

If they are already destroyed I suppose it’s ok.
Maybe a priest will weigh in. But I would DEFINITELY not cut up a readable Bible for arts and crafts.

I think it is okay if the bible is unusable and if your project in not blasphemous art. Good luck with your creation. I would love to see a pic when you are done.
