I felt so sorry for that woman… She went out of her mind, but I think I would to if I had people pushing that astrology garbage on me, not to the same degree though, she went insane…

I especially liked how Fox played the gentle instrumental music with the astrology mother, but then switched to the bonky bozo the clown music when it showed the catholic woman doing anything. Very classy of Fox.

I watched a little of it…that poor woman was so frightened. To see how the other woman had made chages to her christian family so quickly frightened her…

The Catholic mother had a very weak faith that couldn’t handle what she signed up for, I noticed that she eventually accepted the so called “tainted” money. I didn’t feel sorry for her, I was annoyed with her and annoyed with Fox for letting such an unspeakable lunatic represent Catholicism while the Astrology mother was so refined and calm.
I think that the Catholic mother was Bi-Polar and that those children should be removed from her home, she was terrifying that tiny girl and she’s so incredibly obese that she has to have something really wrong with her mentally.

Yeah, so much for finding her strength in Christ…she had NO faith whatsoever. Her family was hungry for love and attention so anyone would be better than what they got stuck with.
That’s exactly how Rev Moon and his Moonies work, btw, they “lovebomb” people who feel like they’re on the fringe.

Reality shows are becomming more and more destructive to any moral structure that is left in society. I am glad I never got into these shows (except for COPS).

The only reality show I watch is “Crocodile Hunter” on the Animal Planet… and even that is rehearsed, and re-taken, over and over so they can edit and splice.

This is not reality. This is a carefully staged anti-catholic message, again. Please don’t watch this garbage. These people need help, not more trauma for the titillation of the masses.

You are correct! There is nothing real about most of these “reality” shows. They are designed to deliver a message, and I refuse to watch any of them.

All I could think when I was watching it (which I normally don’t) was “Yep, those crazy Catholics!” It burned me up!

I watched the show and I missed the part where it said this woman was Catholic. I know she took them to a Catholic church, but I thought that was only because it was the closest church to them. In the end she gave them King James Bibles. I’m not Catholic, so correct me if I am wrong, but do Catholics use the King James Bible?

You are right, Catholics don’t use the KJV Bible. And The show siad she was a Christian woman, and spiritual, but in seeing some of the talk on their boards about the lady it seems she might have some Catholic history but is not Catholic. They did the sign of the cross before eating, but so do Greek Orthodox. I think she is a non-denom Christian who believes in her version of things. Kinda sad, and I also didn’t like how Fox edited the show, nor did I like that they chose her to represent Christians in the first place.

No. But the family did pray the Catholic grace, and she mentioned that she prayed to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph for a safe trip.

I agree about Fox. I do also blame her for going on a reality show, however, I know Fox was probably drooling in the editing room making the show and the promos look as bad as possible. I feel guilty myself for even watching.

I am very disappointed by some of the responses I have read here. Never does anyone have the right to use religion as an excuse to be ugly to nice people. Regardless of a person’s beliefs that woman was absolutely hateful. That is hardly the message our faith wants to portray. Besides, everyone has the right to pursue his or her spiritual path however they choose, whether Wicca or New Age or whatever. No one listens to a screaming, judgemental maniac. Christ is a symbol of compassion and kindness. His example brought a massive change in the history of this world. I am so sick of people using a gentle message to beat others over the head. How do you like it when Protestants refer to our faith as Voodoo and Mumbo Jumbo? Respect others and their beliefs as you would like them to do for you. It might just make a big impression, while you’re at it. Even better it might prevents wars and bloodshed. Thanks for allowing me to express my opinion.

Well…she wasn’t screaming at the new age family, when she went home she went ballistic about them to her own family. To the new age family I thought she was fairly polite, she just told them what she didn’t want to be involved in and refused to be a part of their pagan solstice celebration thing. She didn’t actually scream at them…yet. I haven’t seen the second part yet. I think that’s on this week?

Of course, she shouldn’t have freaked out like that, knowing the cameras were there, and what people were going to think of Christians after seeing her like that. Plus, her grandaughter looked terrified, poor thing.

I’m on another messege board right now tryig to defend what I believe and have 10 people down my throat calling me judgemental and narrowminded just because I don’t believe in what they do.

I stated that I thought astrology was silly and garbage, and they stated that they thought that chirstianity was the same thing, and I’m the only person coming off as narrowminded and judgemental.

Being fat means you have “to have something really wrong with [you] mentally”?

That is ridiculous, not to mention extremely offensive.

Someone cant be fat without having mental problems? What garbage.

This was taking advantage of a woman who wasn’t too smart. A friend and I kept going back and forth on whether she was Catholic or not. I’ve never met a Catholic who acted like her, not the Charismatics either.

But she didn’t lose total control until she came home and realized that her family liked this other woman while she wasn’t liked at the other home. Other moms have reacted angrily out of jealousy when they found a similar reaction at home.

This season seems to want to shock everyone. That’s too bad, because it was eye opening to see a neat-nick and a slob change places. Or all the opposites that there are. Neither is automatically bad, it was the person who made the difference.
