Creation Museum a threat ?

Can someone please show me the “science” that proves evolution? It seems that anyone who actually believes the six day creation story is labeled as unsceintific or treated as a simpleton.

If one believes in a literal six day creation, that person is unscientific. That viewpoint is based on faith only and is opposed by science. That doesn’t mean that you are a simpleton. It means that you decided to take on faith that the story of creation, as written in Genesis, is literally true and not an allegory.

And by the way, regarding being treated as a simpleton, I have had numerous times where I have been called an atheist because I am a geologist. So it goes both ways.

I suggest you read St. Basil’s “Hexamiron”,a series of nine homilies on just this subject. BTW, he is one of only 33 “Doctors of the Church”.

He wasn’t a scientist and he didn’t have the evidence we have that the earth is old or that life has evolved.

The scientific “facts” put forward by the young earth crowd are no less “proven” facts than those proposed by the evolutionist.

I’m sorry, but the young earth crowd has no scientific evidence.

I am not a scientist; but, I am wary of anyone who tells me they can “know as fact” that a rock is 600 milion years old, or that it takes 400 million years to do what I can watch being done in California on the news in the space of a few minutes…

Are you also wary of any scientist that tells you that time is not constant? How about a scientist that studies composition, structure and properties of matter? Or is it just geologists that you are wary of?

It is the atheists who are staunchly anti-God and have scientists among them who want very much to take science outside of the realm of impartiality to make it solidly anti-God. By pointing that out, coupled with pointing out how a secular media is resembling more and more a revived Sodom and Gomorrah, that Christians need to understand.

We are living in a culture that is obsessed and bombarded with sexual imagery, where the killing of the unborn on demand is OK, where “no fault” divorce is OK, where having various kids with various men is OK, where kids acting like pushy, foul mouthed jerks to their own parents is OK. Do we honor the God of Creation or the god of science? And did you see who was standing outside of the Creation Museum in protest? Atheists.

What on Earth does ANY of that have to do with bbq’s post?! Seriously I cannot stand people who will use any topic to post rants about things that are putting them in a foul mood. Reminds me of a college teacher I had, she would take whatever topic she had for the day and immediately use it to complain about her wages. Every day, every situation she did it, got on everyones nerves in the class so much. We prayed everyday for some substitute for that class.

Where in Genesis is it written that death did not exist for species other than humans prior to the fall? As far as I know, Adam and Eve’s sin brought death for humans.

And as far as the death to humans part, are we even sure of that? How do we know Adam and Eve were not meant to die? But then again that argument could go on and on into the foreknowledge of God, etc. debate which always ends in loopholes.
