Is it possible in a lab to create a very basic life form from scratch? Starting with no biological material, just a bunch of chemicals, is it possible to create life? This technically would have had to have happened under natural conditions for Creation to be false, no? I’m just wondering if life has been created in the lab, and if not, why is this not a more prevalent argument for Creation?

How would that disprove Creation? For life to spontaneously come into being out of a bunch of chemicals–chemicals still must be present. Where did those come from? Where did the first particle of matter come from?

😃

and how did it happen that just the right amount of chemicals, in just the right balance, some to all be in just the right spot, ans with no inhibiting or damageing/destroying chemicals present. and how did it happen that this planet just happens to be near enough the Sun to sustain life, and not so far as to prohibit it, and… you get the point.

Haha, I’m not saying that would disprove Creation. I’m saying if that were impossible, then it would prove Creation. I should imagine with all the high tech labs we could recreate the conditions that would have randomly produced life. If life can just appear from a random chemical reaction, why can’t we do it in a lab? I think the fact that we can’t would prove Creation, while the fact that we could would not disprove it at all. See my point?

Man can clone another human being.True. But it is God alone who places within the body, the living soul.

true true. I think everyone is missing my point. The Evolutionist claims that life sprung up randomly. I say, if this is true, why can’t we reproduce it in the lab? I’m saying the fact that we can’t would *prove *Creation. No?

(my subject line was probably misleading :o )

Ah, my apologies for misunderstanding you at first. I see where you are going with it now – but the inability to randomly generate life from chemicals in a lab cannot prove creation. People who claim it is random through chemical reactions tend to emphasize the vastness of chemistry in the universe, and how some of the elements out there are still unknown to us here on Earth (which is true.) So, just because we here on Earth are thus far unable to reproduce a random, life-generating chemical event, it doesn’t mean creation is true.

But all of life on earth is composed of elements that we know of here on earth. Every element in my body is found on earth and is known to man. Are these scientists claiming that elements from elsewhere came and reacted with elements here to create life and then disappeared?

We’ve been making self replicating organic molecules in the lab for 50 years

I’m not sure if that qualifies as life in your book
but it is a start

see this for more background

it took God Billions of years to turn simple molecules into complex life so be patient if we can’t understand or replicate the process in only a few years.
