I have a personal question. At age 67 I am in the process of pre planning my end of life. I am far from rich and live on a fixed income. I understand that Catholic Church is OK with cremation. That said I understand they say the remains must be buried in the ground? Cannon law? Was going to scatter ashes at sea. I ask my Pastor and he said “God will find you wherever you are”. Then another Pastor of the Catholic Church said “No they remains must be buried per Cannon Law”. Some help on this would be kind if others have a view. Or a Priest can give me his view and that of the Church. Thank you, John

In pre planning my end of life I’d like to ask the view of the Church on cremation? Is it true that cremation is now accepted by the Church? Is it also true that under cannon law they say the remains; ashes, must be buried and not scattered? I was planning on having them scattered at sea. Main reason was cost. If you could give me the Church’s view I’d like to feel I make the right choice here. Thank you John
