Hey all! Some of you might remember me from before the board went wonky. I posted under the name Faith1924 and recently changed my user name, somewhat. Now I’m starting over at a junior member level. 😉
Anyway, I was wanting to know if anyone here has ever attended a Christ Renews His Parish retreat and if so, what did you think?
Thus far, I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about it and plan to go next month at my parish.

I’m looking forward to going but I have to admit, I’m getting a little nervous. I’ve never been on a retreat and am the kind of person who likes to be in my own house and in my own bed when it comes time to sleep. :whacky: I thought that since it’s only one night, I can get through it and am hopeful that the spiritual benefits and bonding I’ll do with the other women will outweigh my wanting to go home to sleep.

I’ve been told that it’s best to go with an open mind and few, if any, expectations so I’m not asking for any specifics regarding your CRHP experience but just wanted to know what you all thought of it, overall, and what you gained from the weekend?

My first retreat was a CRHP retreat a few years ago. It (through the Holy Spirit, I believe) was what turned me around and made me want to learn more about my Catholic faith. It also made me feel, for the first time, that I was part of the church community. I pray it is edifying for you.

Peace.

Thanks! I’m a cradle Catholic too who recently returned to the Church after being away for many years. I really love my new parish and am starting to meet people. I think that CHRP will allow me to feel more at home there and I’m especially hoping that it’s a deeply spiritual weekend.
