A new trend of criminal behavior by illegal immigrants seems to be developing – identity theft.
This insidious crime causes great harm to individuals as well as the community at large.
Use of a stolen social security number is a violation of the privacy rights and the economic rights of innocent Americans.
Such activity is not only a serious crime it is morally reprehensable.
More serious criminal behavior calls for more severe punishment.
Previously illegal immigrants tended to use false, made-up, social security numbers. When they got caught with a false number, they were simply sent back to their home country. Now employers can get immediate confirmation as to whether a number is real and such false numbers are worthless. Real but stolen social security numbers are now the trend.
Fortunately there is stern punishment for this behavior. Workers using a stolen social security number face up to 15 years in federal prison, and they have to forfeit every penny they made with the stolen social security number.
IMO illegal immigrants are now showing their true colors – real criminals with distain for the law and a total disregard for the rights of others.
