I have been solicited to subscribe to “Crisis Magazine”, Deal Hudson, publisher. Anyone familiar with it? I would appreciate hearing some opinions.

Thanks in advance.

I think you can get a trial subscription for free. I think it’s a pretty decent magazine.

Yes, I think it is fair, if a bit histrionic.

They have many of their articles on their website (www.crisismagazine.com) so you can get a taste of it in advance. They will also send you a trial issue.

I’ve subscribed for several years and I enjoy it very much.

I like it very much! Don’t find it at all histrionic. 😉

It’s very orthodox. Very solidly Catholic. It’s very well written. I like the slant towards good art; there is writing about good books, good music. I like that.

It’s inexpensive and a good solid read.

👍

I’ve subscribed to it for about two years now, and enjoy it very much. It is hard to know what an earlier poster meant by “histrionic”—it is not a staid, intellectual publication such as First Things (an excellent magazine, by the way), but has “average Joe” appeal—modern graphics; current issues; etc. Perhaps that is what is meant by “histrionic”.

Very cool mag, very faithful. Deal Hudson has become a go-to guy for many media outlets that are looking to balance out liberal opinion on matters affected the Church. He’s the anti-thesis of Richard McBrien.
